A western superstition, Friday the 13th is know as a day of bad luck. Fear of this day is known as “paraskevidekatriaphobia” and it dates way back to the Middle Ages. But what do locals think?
Nursing student, Rene’ Naidoo (23) from Phoenix said “It depends what you make of it. If you are positive you will have a good day.”
Siphesihle Sikhwela (25) from Mayville was on his way to his learnership with a home loan company when he said, “only if you believe it can it harm you, my day is going well.”
Enviornmental studies student, Harley Norton (20) was treading carefully. “It’s one day I try to be more careful,” said Norton.
“It’s a day of bad luck, many people fear Friday the 13th,” said Hope Maneli (18), a Public Management student from Verulam.
