Power utility, Eskom has given an update on the state of the current power system.
Eskom has warned South Africans the system is under severe strain.
It has lost five generating units so far.
Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented at 2pm today until Saturday morning.
Consumers are urged to use electricity sparingly.
