UMHLANGA – Bargain hunters are gearing up for Black Friday on November, 25 as retailers get the Sale signs ready.
A tradition dating back to the 1920s, Black Friday is known for crazy discounts as items go on Sale when the Christmas-shopping-season starts. While Black Friday is an American tradition, South African retailers are getting on board with some offering whopping 5o percent discounts on selected items.
And this is just what shopaholics want to hear. “Especially coming towards the Festive Season, times are tough and the low prices being offered are just what customers are after,” said Kalpana Ramsamy, Marketing Manager for The Crescent Shopping Centre in uMhlanaga. At Gateway Theater of shopping more bargains are expected with Black Friday spreading that festive cheer. “Gateway Theatre of Shopping is expecting a bumper kick off to the festive season on Friday,” said Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley, “many of Gateway’s stores are participating and shoppers are in for some not-to-be-missed bargains.” The mall is gearing up with additional centre staff in anticipation of an influx of shoppers hunting those bargains. Christmas has come early as uMhlanaga shops get on board with Black Friday. “Retailers have pulled out all the stops to ensure SA consumers will get unprecedented deals this Friday,” said Ramsamy.
With retailers capitalising on the hype of Black Friday, sales are sure to sky-rocket as customers bag those low prices.
