DURBAN – Two people have been injured after a marquee at a voting station collapsed on the corners of Argyle Road and Montpelier Road in Durban on Wednesday.
During the general elections yesterday afternoon, and possibly due to the heavy winds in the Durban area, the make shift voting station marquee buckled on voters, injuring two.
Rescue Care and other emergency services were called to the scene to find that two people had been injured whilst casting their votes when the voting station marquee collapsed. The patients were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for required medical care.
At this stage the cause of the collapse of the marquee is unknown.
