SECTION A: GENERAL TERMS

These Terms & Conditions apply to all participants in the SALMA Awards 2025, including nominated artists and voters.
By participating in the SALMA Awards, all parties agree to abide by these terms.
SALMA is an initiative to recognize and celebrate local South African musical talent.
The awards are organized and hosted by Megazone Bollywood 104.8FM (a division of Megazone Media).
The competition is open to residents of South Africa only, with a continued residence of 10 years or more.
SALMA includes five award categories.
Nominations are vetted and selected by an internal panel of music experts at Megazone Media.
Voting is conducted via a secure Google Form, hosted by Megazone Bollywood 104.8FM.
Voting is free and open to the public during the official voting period.
Megazone Media reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any part of the awards without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

All nominated artists must be South African citizens or permanent residents with citizenship of 10 years and over.
Artists must be over the age of 16.
All entries must consist of original, locally produced content (Recorded and produced in South Africa).
Music recorded in South Africa but produced internationally does not qualify.
Submissions with offensive, hateful, or defamatory lyrics are not eligible.
Artists must provide valid contact details for confirmation and communication.
Any false information provided may result in disqualification.
Nominees must have the legal right to represent the content submitted.
Group entries must nominate a primary contact person.

Nominations are selected based on musical merit, radio airplay, and public engagement.
Artists cannot pay for inclusion in the nomination list.
Each category will include a maximum of 5 nominees.
Nominees will be announced on air and on all Megazone Media platforms.
No artist may be nominated in more than 2 categories in a single year.
Nominees must agree to participate in promotional interviews or recordings if requested.
Finalists will be notified in advance and may be invited to the awards event.

Winners are determined by the highest number of valid public votes.
Winners will be announced live on-air and via Megazone Media platforms.
Each winner will receive a SALMA Trophy and a sponsor-supplied prize.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Winners must present a valid form of ID when claiming their prize.
Artists who fail to respond to prize notifications within 7 days forfeit the prize.
Megazone is not responsible for any tax liabilities associated with prizes.
Winners agree to allow their names and images to be used in promotional material.
Artists engaging in fraudulent voting behavior will be disqualified immediately.

Voting is open to anyone aged 13 years and above.
Voters must reside in South Africa.
Each voter may only vote once per category.
Duplicate votes from the same email address or IP address will be disqualified.
Voting will take place through an official Google Form created by Megazone Media.
Voting opens on a publicly announced date and closes at midnight on the final voting day.

All valid voters will be entered into a lucky draw to win prizes.
Voter prizes may include event tickets, merchandise, or sponsor products.
Winners will be selected at random using an automated draw system.
Draw winners will be notified via the email address they used to vote.
Winners must claim their prizes within 7 days of notification.
Voter prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
Megazone reserves the right to request proof of identity before awarding a prize.
Incomplete or false entries will result in disqualification from the draw.
The draw is supervised and recorded to ensure fairness and transparency.

Any form of cheating, bot voting, or manipulation will result in disqualification.
Artists or voters found violating the terms will be banned from future awards.
Respectful conduct is expected from all participants at all times.
Cyberbullying, harassment, or defamation on public platforms will not be tolerated.
The organizing committee’s decision is final and binding.
Any disputes must be submitted in writing to Megazone Media within 48 hours.

All nominees and winners grant Megazone the right to use names, images, and music clips for promotional purposes.
Megazone may publish interviews or behind-the-scenes content involving artists.
Voting stats may be shared publicly at Megazone’s discretion, excluding voter personal information.
No compensation will be paid for promotional appearances or content.

Megazone Media and its partners are not liable for technical failures affecting voting or submissions.
We are not responsible for any lost, delayed, or misdirected votes or communications.
Participants agree to release and hold harmless Megazone Media from any claims arising out of their involvement.
Participants are responsible for ensuring their information is correct and up to date.
Megazone reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the awards event for any reason.
By entering, all participants waive any right to legal action related to prize outcomes or technical malfunctions.

Voter data collected via the Google Form is used solely for voting and prize draw purposes.
No personal data will be sold or shared with third parties.
All data will be deleted within 60 days after the awards unless retention is required by law.
Artists and voters agree to be contacted for awards-related communication only.

These Terms & Conditions are subject to change. Any updates will be posted publicly.
Megazone Media reserves the right to add or remove award categories in future editions.
Participants are encouraged to follow @MegazoneBollywood on social media for updates.
All decisions made by the SALMA judging and organizing team are final.
Participation in SALMA implies full acceptance of these terms.
All prizes are subject to availability. If a prize becomes unavailable, an alternative will be provided.
Voting that appears to originate from bots, VPNs, or fake accounts may be investigated and removed.
Winners must agree to a brief radio interview or statement recording.
Prizes will be distributed within 14 working days of winner confirmation.
All event photography remains the property of Megazone Media.
No employee of Megazone Media or their immediate families may vote or enter the prize draw.
