DURBAN – Two stolen vehicles were recovered shortly after 1:30 pm this morning in Ntuzuma and Kwamashu.
A Volkswagen Golf V was reported stolen in a hijacking in Durban’s Blue Lagoon area shortly after 1:30 am. The vehicle was fitted with a tracking device and monitored by Tracker, who distributed an alert to all vehicles in the northern areas. A joint effort between Tracker, Marshall Security and Metro Police found the vehicle abandoned in the Ntuzuma area, nineteen minutes after being reported stolen.
Shortly after the first recovery, a second vehicle was reported stolen in Kwamashu’s ‘F’ section, and a tracker signal was found in the Kwamshu area where an extensive search ensued before the vehicle was tracked and found abandoned in ‘A’ section of Kwamashu.
Both vehicles were handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing. The suspects in both incidents remain at large.
