When Persian emperor, Xerxes the Great, went in search of the most beautiful woman in the world to make her his queen, he found her in South India. Her name was Vashthi.

Throughout the years, time and time again Indian women have proven themselves as worthy of their beauty status, with at the highest number of Miss World titles since 1966, of which a number of these winners were of Tamil and Telegu origin.
