The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is approaching the Constitutional Court to extend its contract with Cash Paymaster Services.
The SA Social Security Agency (SASSA) is expected to approach the Constitutional Court on Wednesday,15 February to extend the grant payments contract of Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) for another year.
It has been reported that millions of citizens who rely on social grants may not be paid, if the contract is not extended however, the spokesperson of SASSA has dissuaded such repotrts.
According to SASSA spokesperson Paseka Letatsi said, “All South African citizens can rest assured that they will receive their social grants on the 1 April without any hindrances”.
SASSA will be approaching ConCourt to file papers in terms of the best option to move forward to extending their contract which will be ending in 31 March this year, he stated, “That in 2013 the court had requested progress reports and that this along with a new proposal will be put forward to the Judge in the upcoming meeting”.
