The Automobile Association predicts another petrol price increase later this month. Petrol is expected to increase by 40c a litre, diesel and illuminating paraffin could spike by 70c.
While Motorists are currently paying R17.00 for a litre of unleaded 95, in March the price was R13.76. The petrol hike could affect the bus and taxi operations resulting in an increase of fares.
According to the association the current tension involving the world’s biggest oil producers in Saudi Arabia and the US could place more pressure on fuel prices.
