A 27-year-old woman who sustained severe head injuries after being hit with a brick, during a protest action in Shaka’s Head is home after spending three months in the hospital.
Sashni Daniel had been driving along the R102 when bricks were thrown at her car allegedly by protesters.
One of the bricks shattered her windscreen and hit her on the head leaving her with a cracked skull, three blood clots, and internal swelling. She was rushed to the hospital where she was put on life support and has undergone multiple surgeries for the last three months.
Her father says the public has come out to help the family renew their home as Daniel is wheelchair bound.
