Manchester City play maker Kevin de Bruyne will be out for 12 weeks because of a knee injury.
The 27 year-old, a second-half substitute in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal, suffered the injury in training on Wednesday.
Du Bruyne missed 12 games in 2016 after injuring the same knee during an EFL Cup semi-final victory over Everton.
Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling played behind Sergio Kun Aguero as the Belgium international came on as a 60th-minute substitute during the defending Premier League champions’ 2-0 victory over the Gunners at Emirates Stadium last Sunday.
