PINETOWN – At approximately, 13:30pm this afternoon, a 35-year-old man was left seriously injured, after he was shot and left for dead in an apparent carjacking on 38th Avenue in Claremont, Pinetown.
It is alleged that the suspects accosted the man in an attempt to steal his vehicle, they then shot him and left him on the road.
ER24 paramedics, along with SAPS, arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the middle of the road. After assessing the man it was found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen, leaving him in a serious condition.
Lt Col Thulani Zwane said, ” It is alleged that today,Wednesday, November 23, a 35-year-old victim was shot in the stomach by unknown suspects who robbed him of his Ford Bantam. A case of carjacking and circumstances surrounding the incident are is being investigated by KwaDabeka SAPS. “We are appealing to anyone who might have information about the suspects to contact the local police or our Crime Stop number on 08600 10111,” he added.
