DURBAN – A man was found dead on the train tracks near Leopald street and Field street at 8:20 this morning.
The man, believed to be in his thirties was killed when he was knocked by a train this morning. Rescue Care Paramedics and SAPS Search and Rescue were called to the corner of Leopald Street (David Webster Street) and Field street (Joe Slovo Street) when it was reported that a person had been hit by a train. The man was declared dead as paramedics assessed him on arrival and found that he had sustained severe injuries.
At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.”Police are investigating an inquest docket,” said Captain Khepo Ndlovu, spokesperson for the Durban Central SAPS.
