The body of a 16-year-old boy that went missing after being swept out to sea, whilst swimming at Blythedale Beach situated on the Dolphin Coast, in KwaZulu Natal has been found.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, operations manager Paul Herbst’s said, “TheKwadakuza lifeguards together with IPSS Medical Rescue and SAPS search & Rescue received calls from the Kwadakuza lifeguards stationed at Zinkwazi beach.” The teens body was located 1km north of Zinkwazi ski boat club added Herbst.
The scholar was swimming this past Monday when he got into difficulty and was swept out from shore. An off-duty police officer noticed the swimmer in difficulty and altered IPSS Medical Rescue, as well as KDM Fire & Rescue. The IPSS water rescue division, together with KDM lifeguards, responded to the beach and initiated an extensive search. The search was suspended with negative results, due to poor light.
The recovered body was handed over to SAPS for further investigation.
