Gareth Southgate is set to be offered a new contract with a significant pay rise to remain England manager beyond the 2020 European Championship.
Southgate has two years remaining on his current deal but the FA want to reward his success in leading England to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup for the first time since 1990.
The performance in Russia is likely to see Southgate attracting interest for club jobs when they become available next season.
Negotiations are expected to begin next week when the 47 year old returns from his holiday.
The Football Association is determined to keep him in charge until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
