uMhlanga – A home owner and her domestic worker where gagged and tied up by armed assailants in a house robbery on uMhlanga today.
At about 2pm Marshall Security were alerted to a house robbery that had occurred in Ridge road, uMhlanga Rocks. Armed reaction officers had found that three armed men forced entry in to the property on Ridge road, uMhlanga through a boundary wall.
The homeowner and domestic worker were bound and confined whilst the suspects ransacked the home fleeing with high end electronic items.
Captain Deokaran of the Durban North SAPS confirmed the house robbery. It was reported that whilst the home owner was busy on her computer, she noticed two suspects standing beside her, one of the suspects held a knife to her throat and demanded cash, a third suspect appeared, gagged and tied her up and the trio went in search of the domestic worker. While the suspects were busy ransacking the upstairs rooms, the homeowner managed to open the front gate and notified the neighbours , who alerted the police, however, the suspects fled with cash and electronic items. The domestic worker was found gagged and tied in the bedroom, both victims were unarmed.
