WESTVILLE- Four people were injured after a shooting on Blaire Atholl Road in Westville.
It was reported that, at about 6.30am this morning, a bus driver was shot and 3 passengers injured when a bus travelling from Westville to Pinetown stopped to pick up a passenger who was allegedly armed with a firearm.
The passenger entered the bus and shot at the driver, injuring him on his arm and then proceeded to shoot at the passengers.
The bus driver, along with the bus filled with passangers managed to drive to the Pinetown SAPS to report the incident.
Upon arrival, ER24 paramedics found that four people had sustained only minor to moderate wounds. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported.
Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.
Captain Manqele spokesperson for Pinetown SAPS has confirmed an armed passenger shot at the bus driver and passengers. “It is alleged that this could be a case of taxi violence” said Cpt Manqele, However,investigations for the reason behind the shooting is pending.
