Emergency services have recovered a fifth drowning victim from Virgina Beach at 6pm today, a mere three months after the first victim was found in October last year.
Marshall Security reports that they received a call for a body spotted floating in the sea off of the Virginia Pier. Special Operations Team members and Netcare911 emergency care practitioners were immediately dispatched.
On arrival the body of a male, approximately thirty-five years of age, was found floating face down in the water just passed the pier.
Members of the Marshall Security Special Operations Team managed to retrieve the male and bring him to shore where he was assessed and declared deceased by paramedics.
The scene was handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
