PINETOWN – Fifteen people have been injured after a truck, taxi and car collided on the M7 West bound after Hans Detman offramp just after 6:30 am today.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that the three vehicles had crashed in a head-on format. The taxi and the car allegedly crashed head-on into the truck which was crossing the centre medium. Advanced Life Support paramedics were immediately requested once the scene was assessed. The driver of the car was entrapped in their vehicle and the Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life to cut the man free whilst paramedics treated him. A total of fifteen people sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe and were all stabilised on the scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further.
