DURBAN- At about 6.20pm, Tuesday, January 17, a mutilated body was found on a construction site near a petrol service station on Sibaya Drive, Durban North.
A 60-year-old security guard was stabbed more than 30 times with his limbs broken, whilst waiting to be relieved of his shift.
It is alleged that when another guard arrived to relieve the victim from his shift, the victim could not be found. Upon a search, the body was found a few metres away on the ground with his innards splattered next to him. The victim’s cell phone and firearm was stolen.
Captain Raymond Deokaran spokesperson of the Durban North SAPS said: “The man was found with a broken leg, more than 30 stab wounds and his intestines protruding due to the severity of the stabbing. A cell phone as well as a 9mm firearm was stolen. “It is believed there was more than one suspect and a case of murder has been open,” he added.
