DURBAN – A 22-year-old man fell to his death after a prank went wrong on Friday,  September 9.

It was reported that the man who was a cleaner at a building in the Point area on Signal road was joking around with his friends when he attempted to jump from the fourth floor of the building to the ground floor. According to witnesses, the prank had gone wrong when the man misjudged the distance and fell to his death.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man unresponsive. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had unfortunately succumbed to his critical injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

CPT Khephu Ndlovu spokesperson of the Durban Central SAPS has confirmed that the man died on scene and an inquest docket has been registered at the Point Police station for further investigation.
