Brazil right-back Danilo has been ruled out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, after injuring his ankle in training yesterday ahead of today’s quarter-final clash against Belgium, kick off is at 20h00 this evening at Nizhny Novrogod.
The Manchester City full back suffered ligament damage in his left ankle, but has asked to remain with the squad in Russia.
The 26 year old has only played in Brazil’s opening 1-all draw with Switzerland on 17 June and then suffered a thigh strain.
Danilo had come into the squad to replace PSG’s Dani Alves, who has missed the rest of tournament due to a knee injury which he sustained before the World Cup began.
