Uefa Champions League finalists Liverpool have agreed a fee of about R1,2 billion for AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson.
The Premier League club are now expected to hold talks with the Brazil international.
The 25-year-old has been at AS Roma for two years, and played 37 Italian Serie A matches last season, after starting his career at Brazilian side Internacional.
Liverpool’s bid would overtake the current record for a keeper which is R795 million paid by Juventus to Parma for Gianluigi Buffon back in 2001.
The Premier League record for a glove-man is the R600 million that Manchester City paid Benfica for Ederson in June last year.
